ബെല്‍ഗ്രേഡ് : ഗതാഗതക്കുരുക്കും കാലതാമസവും ലഘൂകരിക്കുന്നതിനായി സെര്‍ബിയന്‍ തലസ്ഥാനമായ ബെല്‍ഗ്രേഡ് ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പൊതുഗതാഗതം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും സൗജന്യമാക്കുന്നു.2025 ജനുവരി 1 മുതലാണ് പ്രാബല്യം.

പൊതുഗതാഗതം ഉപയോഗിക്കാന്‍ ആളുകളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ കാറുകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞ റോഡുകള്‍ ലഘൂകരിക്കാനാണ് സെര്‍ബിയ ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.

ബെല്‍ഗ്രേഡിലെ എല്ലാ താമസക്കാര്‍ക്കും സൗജന്യ പൊതുഗതാഗതം 2025 ജനുവരി 1 മുതലാണ് വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്.1.7 ദശലക്ഷം നിവാസികളുള്ള നഗരം ഭൂഗര്‍ഭ സംവിധാനമില്ലാത്ത ചുരുക്കം ചില പ്രധാന യൂറോപ്യന്‍ തലസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ്.

എന്നാല്‍ പൊതുഗതാഗതം സൗജന്യമാക്കുന്നത് യൂറോപ്പില്‍ ഇഃാദ്യമല്ല. ലുക്സംബര്‍ഗ്, എസ്തോണിയ (തലസ്ഥാനമായ ടാലിന്‍) തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ ഇതിനകം സൗജന്യമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ബെല്‍ഗ്രേഡിലെ റോഡുകളില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്ന തിരക്കും, ഉയര്‍ന്ന സാന്ദ്രതയുള്ള കാറുകളുണ്ട്, നഗരത്തിന് ചുറ്റും സഞ്ചരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ താമസക്കാര്‍ മണിക്കൂറുകളോളം ഗ്രിഡ്ലോക്ക് നേരിടുന്നു.കഴിഞ്ഞ ദശകത്തില്‍ കാറുകളുടെ എണ്ണമായി 250,000 വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ചു.

2030~ഓടെ മെട്രോ സംവിധാനം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തുമെന്ന് അധികൃതര്‍ ഉറപ്പുനല്‍കിയിരുന്നെങ്കിലും, പദ്ധതിക്ക് നിരവധി കാലതാമസങ്ങള്‍ നേരിട്ടതിനാല്‍ ഇതുവരെ പദ്ധതി സ്തംഭിച്ചു.2027 ഓടെ നഗരത്തിലെ ബസുകള്‍, ട്രാമുകള്‍, ട്രോളിബസുകള്‍ എന്നിവ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും മാറ്റിസ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്ന് ഗതാഗതമന്ത്രി സാപിക് പറഞ്ഞു.

ബെല്‍ഗ്രേഡില്‍ ട്രാം സംവിധാനം 1892 മുതല്‍ നിലവിലുണ്ട്, മൊത്തം 127 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ നീളമുണ്ട്, നഗരത്തിന് ചുറ്റും വളച്ചൊടിച്ച് യൂറോപ്പിലെ ഏറ്റവും ദൈര്‍ഘ്യമേറിയ നെറ്റ്വര്‍ക്കുകളില്‍ ഒന്നായി ഇത് മാറി.
